Trinity Early Childhood Center serves children 6 weeks through 5 years old by offering childcare and preschool programming. Both programs meet and exceed Illinois Learning Standards while incorporating our SCEWD (Social/Spiritual, Communicative Arts, Expressive Arts, Wellness & Discovery) and daily Jesus Time. Trinity Early Childhood Center also has weekly Chapel throughout the academic calendar year.

Genesis (6 weeks thru 15 months) and Psalms (15 months thru 2 years)

An infant's capacity to learn is present from birth. Infants learn about their world primarily through social contact - the experiences they have with those who take care of them begin at birth. Every infant is an individual with a unique temperament. All infants possess a set of skills and abilities that change with development. Although the rate, pattern and quality of development vary from child to child, all infants progress through similar stages of development. Our infant/toddler program is closely attuned to the predictable sequences of normal infant development in the areas of motor skills, language and communication, cognition and socialization. This development occurs by the caregivers playing with the children, talking to them, making faces and responding to them. Consistency in response makes the child's environment more predictable and comfortable. Varied experiences, such as textures, different food, shapes and sounds, going for strolls outside and watching birds and animals help to stimulate your child.

For infants and toddlers through 15 months of age, care is in the ratio of four children per staff member. No child is ever left unattended, even when asleep. Our staff is highly qualified, loving and patient. The teachers will spend a great deal of time holding, cuddling, and interacting with the children. We do not allow a child to "cry it out", but rather make every attempt to comfort and console him/her.

The toddler room is designed to serve children between the ages of approximately 15 months to 24 or 30 months (depending on developmental abilities). The staff/child ratio for children 15 months to 24 months is five children per staff member. Communication and academic skills are developed and self-help skills, such as table manners, toilet training and dressing themselves are also practiced. Social skills such as sharing toys and positive interactions with their peers are stressed throughout the day. The positive atmosphere in the toddler room enhances a child's good feelings about him/herself and those around him/her

Acts (2's Preschool) and Kings (Preschool)

As the children continue their experience at Trinity Early Childhood Center, new considerations are given to their increased attention span, activity level and need to satisfy their curiosity. A more structured environment is created and the opportunities for exploration increase. The preschool/childcare program serves children between the ages of two and five years with a 1:8 teacher/student ratio in the Acts and 1:10 in the Kings. (Reminder:  Children MUST be the age of the program on or before September 1st)

Emphasis is placed on cognitive skills. Our curriculum concentrates on pre-reading, reading, mathematical and science concepts, creative arts and music, and Bible truths. Planned activities are used to reinforce the natural learning that is part of every activity in a child's day, even playtime. We encourage the child to learn by doing and experiencing in a safe and well-supervised environment. All the children's activities are planned and presented in a positive, caring atmosphere by trained professionals.

Consistency is given through routine; variety is promoted through activities to stimulate all areas of development. Social interaction is encouraged, communication and cognitive skills enhanced, and emotional and spiritual development carefully nurtured.

PLEASE NOTE: Before any child will be transitioned to the Kings Class (3’s/4’s) must be fully potty-trained.

Romans (Pre-Kindergarten)

The pre-kindergarten program is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 5, with a teacher/child ratio of 1:10. We begin to develop pre-reading skills and lay the groundwork for our full-day kindergarten program. We round out our program with art, music, dramatic play, centers and motor skill activities. We offer your child a stimulating and fulfilling pre-kindergarten year. Schedules for the pre-kindergarten program are posted on the Parent Information Board.

Our greatest gift is to share the love we have received from Christ with the children in our care. These policies are established for the welfare and safety of each child who attends our Center.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14 (NIV)
